GLENDALE CEMETERY is located at 150 Glendale Ave. in Akron, Ohio. Established in 1839, it is the final resting place of many significant Akronites. Included among these are the Seiberling burial plot, a leading Ohio industrialist family and Nick Anthe, restaurant proprietor. Besides the famous names, the Glendale Cemetery is notable for its lovely mausoleums, headstones, and chapel.
To the left of the enterance is the office and, beyond that, the memorial chapel devoted to American veterans. Not only is Glendale, also known as Akron Rural Cemetery, a beautiful nationally recognized historic landmark, it's a growing one! At the time of this update, Glendale Cemetery is still selling plots to those who wish to join the notable inhabitants of the graveyard. Driving up the winding hills can be tricky in winter, but this is a lovely cemetery to take a walk through on a pleasant day
